Mireya Alejo Marcet, MA. MFT,
is a Mexican woman who currently lives between California and Mexico and offers her work locally and internationally. She is an artist, licensed psychotherapist, Expressive Arts therapist (graduated from CIIS in 2002), Astrologer and Holotropic Breathwork facilitator. She certified from the Grof Transpersonal Training (GTT) in 1993 and has facilitated groups in this approach since that date. Her therapeutic and teaching work is informed by her experiences and training with “Curanderas” (medicine women) in Mexico as a Social Anthropologist, more than three decades of work with expanded states of consciousness, as well as the expressive arts, ceremonial practices and the astrological chart as tools for soul’s expression, healing and rebirthing.
She trained in Holotropic Breathwork with Stan Grof , Cristina Grof & team in the early 90’s and served as part of the Grof Transpersonal Training senior staff. In 2013 she was invited to develop a training on the topic of Integration she now calls, “A Multi-Modal Tapestry to Integration of Expanded States of Consciousness”. She offers this work through individual sessions, groups and online programs and regularly facilitates Holotropic Breathwork & Integration groups.
Mireya is the creator of “Altar Creation – A Canvas in Movement” a practice that offers diverse applications to connect with our interior life and the sacred, through the creation of altars and multimodal expressive arts theory. This is an integral part of her integration teaching and process. In her work through the years, she has had a strong commitment to women's life transitions and empowerment journey through ritual, creative arts and circles.
She is an adjunct professor at the California Institute of Integral Studies in the Expressive Arts Therapy Program and previously served as mentor in the Certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies and Research Program. Mireya strongly believes in the power of offering sacred, creative and permission-giving environments that support personal, collective and spiritual transformation. Because she continually turns to the arts for healing in her own life, those who work with her find it safe to explore, uncover, and release material from the depths of the psyche. She offers online and in-person individual sessions, group work, consultation and teaching. Her website: www.almaquecanta.com
Integration is where we begin to translate experiences from Holotropic sessions into our lives, where repair can take place and new, healthier patterns can gradually develop slowly building towards lasting transformation.
